5 years at Capsule Marketing

by Georgia Monk on 28th July 2023

It seems so weird to be writing that I’ve been at Capsule for five whole years now. They say that time flies when you’re having fun but I can’t quite believe how quickly the time has gone and how much has changed. I started as a Junior developer working alongside a fantastic and knowledgeable team, faced challenges, good and bad and enjoyed working with a number of small to larger organisations and interesting clients. I’m now working alongside an incredibly diverse, knowledgeable and caring team as the Lead Developer and Digital Production Manager at Capsule and can genuinely say I love my job and the people around me.

We’ve certainly been through a rollercoaster of challenges that every business has faced throughout the global pandemic and are fortunate to say we have strived through it. Adapting quickly to working from home, we now pride ourselves as working Remote First and use our values and goals to ensure we still set the same standards and level of work as always.

Take a look at some of my favourite projects and web builds I’ve built over the last five years and the story behind them. As a creative enthusiast, every detail counts, and that’s why I’ve listed these sites as some of my favourite WordPress web builds I’ve built completely from scratch.

Fab Communications

Starting with high-quality brand guidelines, colours, and photography just sets your website up for a win! I simply loved creating this website, from a flat design to a live animated site. The design is so sleek, elegant and professional, and the incredible photography just takes this build to the next level. Adding layers on to the site gives a 3D feel and creates user engagement from the smallest of details. Keeping everything unique to the client, those finishing touches of the border colours just ties this website together perfectly.

CBA Gin

This web build was so creative; the design featured artwork and high-quality images and photographs of the products, which always brings a website to life. Although this Woo-commerce website only hosted a few products, the intricate detail of the design kept me on my toes when working through each page.

Space East

I loved working alongside the team at Space East. When a client is passionate and excited about their project, that energy feeds throughout the web design right through to the build phase and beyond. We worked to tight deadlines to hit goals in separated phases, ensuring a smooth and high-quality website ready for the team’s launch event! In phase 2, we developed the site further to add news and events as well as the new branded video to give the site even more depth and excitement.

There have been loads of projects I have enjoyed working on, and after 5 years, I am still learning new things about myself, the team and how we collaborate together to deliver the highest quality of work and service possible. I pride myself on being a dedicated member towards the goals and values of Capsule and hope to be here for another 5 years or more.

Just some of my favourite things about working at Capsule in a nutshell:

  • Inspirational and caring team
  • Regular team-building activities and outings
  • Every day is different
  • Opportunities are endless
  • Weekly baking rota! (although my clothes wouldn’t agree!)
  • Early Friday finish (who doesn’t love an early finish Friday?)

The list could be endless in my time at Capsule. I have worked on hundreds of sites, from minor updates to full rebuilds. Ending this blog post to say I’m feeling so thankful for the opportunities of working with some amazing clients and people, always learning new skills and making friends for life. Here’s to the next five years!

Georgia is our Lead Website Developer with a fantastic knowledge of the WordPress content management system. After completing her apprenticeship and working as a frontend developer at a local agency she joined our team. A typical day for Georgia involves building and maintaining websites for all of our clients. Georgia has a bright and bubbly personality that is reflected through her work. Despite being a web developer extraordinaire, at the weekend she’s a dance superstar running her own school. Some say she brings a whole new lease of life to the kick-ball-change, all we know is that she’s a huge chocolate lover and adores her new pet kittens!
