Where has that time gone? Last month was officially my first work anniversary with Capsule Marketing and, whilst on one hand, I feel like that time has flown by, I’ve been thinking about all my favourite moments in the last 12 months, and realised wow, we’ve done a lot! With that in mind, I thought I’d document them here in our blog to show the breadth of work and experiences we dive into as an agency, as well as give insight into what it’s like to work for Capsule Marketing.
As you’d expect, meetings with clients are fundamental to us as an agency and provide opportunities to discuss performance, strategise for the future, and ultimately build our professional relationship with both legacy and new clients. But, what you might not expect, is that there’s more than one way to conduct a client meeting. From trips to the pub, warehouse tours, and even a brand workshop at Old Trafford, I’ve had a great time this past year getting to know the businesses and individuals I have the pleasure of working with each month. As a remote-first agency, Capsule appreciates the many benefits stepping outside the office can provide, and this doesn’t just apply to us as an internal team. We are always happy to invite clients to new locations to enjoy some time away from the desk and achieve the productivity and inspiration that stems from a new environment and a strategically planned agenda.
It’s with that in mind that Capsule gave me the opportunity to head to the seaside for BrightonSEO in September last year. Over the course of 2 days, I attended various talks and seminars on a whole host of topics within digital marketing, from content strategies, to email marketing, to social media and TikTok. It was inspiring to hear first-hand from industry leaders and creatives, and I gained valuable insight into the latest trends and updates which could then be applied to both Capsule and our clients.
For example, all that TikTok training came in handy around Christmas time when it came to our first campaign with Pet’sUp, which saw us set off to a local garden centre equipped with video equipment, dog treats and a Father Christmas costume. It was great fun to get stuck in with the festive spirit and combine both my dog-mum skills with my TikTok knowledge to create a Christmas campaign promoting their dog treats on the fastest-growing social platform.
And, speaking of Christmas, I couldn’t write a blog about my favourite Capsule moments without mentioning our December trip to The Tina Turner Musical. The whole team celebrated the end of the year by catching a train to London, enjoying a glass of champagne, whilst being wowed by the talents of ‘Tina’ and rounded up a fabulous day with a Christmas dinner in the city.
Social moments are key to the way we work at Capsule, and are made all the better by the friendly team we have at the agency. We are collaborative in all that we do, combining our individual expertise to provide a full-service solution for our clients. Our ability to communicate and gel with one another is strengthened by our team outings – particularly when they involve an escape room, where teamwork is critical.
Knowledge sharing is also key to our success as an agency. We are open to sharing the skills and knowledge we acquire and encourage internal training sessions whenever possible. Although my expertise lie within paid social and account management, I’ve learnt so much over the past year about Google Ads, SEO and much more, which enables me to advise and guide clients on all aspects of their digital marketing and facilitate agreed work between them and the experts.
I’ve also recently been given the opportunity to join Capsule’s operations team, meaning I now attend monthly meetings to discuss the agency’s success, challenges, business development opportunities, team support and other critical areas. We work as a team to problem-solve and outline solutions which we then go on to implement with the entire agency team. I’m currently 3 months into joining this team, and looking forward to many more opportunities to help Capsule Marketing flourish.
Looking back on the year, growth has been a key theme to my time with Capsule, whether that be in my knowledge, experiences, or role within the team. Another key theme has been variety and this extends all the way through to my clients. From boat rigging to teacher training, the clients I work with offer me the opportunity to dive into many different industries. It’s exciting to learn about the worlds I am less familiar with, as well as channel my passion into those I do. This year Capsule has welcomed 2 new pet-focused clients and I’m certainly applying my love of dogs to these projects.
So, with my first year at Capsule done and dusted, I’m very keen to dive into my next. To all my existing clients, I hope you’ve enjoyed the last year as much as I have and I’m looking forward to what we can achieve in the next. To the team at Capsule, thank you very much for all the support, encouragement and great times, and here’s to many more!
