Animated explainer videos - Enhanced Practice, Practice-Based Learning, and the Dietetic Career Framework

What we did

Overview

We were approached by the British Dietetic Association (the professional body and trade union for dietitians in the UK) to produce a suite of animated videos supporting several key initiatives. These included the Enhanced Practice pathway, Practice-Based Learning, and a new Career Framework designed to help dietitians plan and progress their professional development.

The aim was to create engaging, accessible content for use across the BDA’s website and social media channels, bringing clarity to complex professional topics and encouraging take-up across the dietetic community.

The Approach

To kick things off, we led a storyboarding workshop with the BDA team, guiding them through the animation process and offering advice on scripting, including how to structure each video with a clear hook, informative middle and call to action. We also provided a selection of voiceover artists to ensure the tone was right for their audiences.

Building on this foundation, we developed a range of illustration styles that aligned with the BDA’s brand guidelines, ensuring consistency while injecting warmth and clarity into the visual storytelling.

Outcome

The final outputs were a series of vibrant, friendly animations that helped demystify the BDA’s professional frameworks, making them more approachable and shareable.
