Apprentice In A Digital Marketing Agency

by Lewis Winter on 18th February 2022

Any significant change in your life requires a lot of thought. Whether it involves moving house or even starting a new hobby, you will always have part of your brain which will want you to stay in a certain mindset. For me, the fear of expanding out of my comfort zone isn’t something I have heavily struggled with in the past. Although as I’ve started to delve deeper into my early adult life, It was inevitable that I would come across it at some stage.

Well, you might be wondering what that difficult change I went through was, are you? Be honest if not.

What it’s like working in a Marketing Agency

If you tend to care about my substantial life change, I decided to become an apprentice at a digital marketing agency. Yes, I know it’s random, am I right? If you told me five years ago that I would be working as a Junior developer, would I believe you? Nope. In all likelihood, I would most likely blatantly ignore you. Nothing personal, just not what I expected. Do I regret it in any way? By all means no, In fact, it’s one of the best choices I’ve ever made.

Along the way, I’ve met and got to know some sensational people who have their own exciting stories of how they got to where they are now. Have I mentioned the amount of experience I’ve gained from working with various people across multiple teams? Working collaboratively with other members is something that I’ve cherished so far, which has allowed me to expand my knowledge in other departments. Furthermore, the knowledge I have gained has given me a superior insight into how a project is built from the ground up.

What could be next for upcoming apprentices

Over the next couple of years, we could see a rapid rise in demand for new apprentices. As the world continues to push back our troubles for the hope of normality, we could potentially witness an uproar that would see the total number of apprentices from 2021 increase by 80% next year. An increase in the total number of apprentices can only lead to a wider variety of job sectors that will be available, ensuring everyone has more of a diverse range of options. If you fancy a new challenge, this could be you. Actions speak louder than words, and you might not get an opportunity like this again, so why not apply now.

Is there anything that I wish I did differently

Everyone makes mistakes in their lifetime. After all, “the greatest mistake a man can ever make is to be afraid of making one”. It gives you an idea of what your limits are, and how far you can go. I can’t express enough how much I’ve enjoyed my first few months working within a marketing agency. The only mistake I’ve made is that I didn’t commit to something like this sooner.
