Tips to boost your social media marketing in 2024

by Besjona Morina on 26th January 2024

We’ve all heard about the power of social media. So, whether it’s for personal use or business purposes, it is essential to know how you can make the most out of using it. Even though most of us have some sort of social media presence, there is still lots of confusion on how to use it effectively, particularly as the landscape of opportunity is so big. Lots of people have the wrong idea of how it should be used and what can be done to improve social media profiles. That is why we’ve gathered some simple but effective tips to help those interested in improving their social media.

Here are some top tips to enhance your social media marketing in 2024:

Video Content

Video content is a crucial element in the world of social media marketing. With the rise of short-form video content on platforms like TikTok and Instagram (reels), it is essential to invest in creating short video content for all of your social media platforms. When it comes to social media, this should certainly be a priority over long videos. It is essential to create engaging, short and snappy videos that can capture the attention of your target audience and convey your brand message effectively.

Authenticity

When it comes to gaining followers and engagement on social media platforms, it’s not always best to follow the crowd, particularly if it does not align with your business or brand messaging. It is essential to stay true to your brand identity and maintain authenticity. It is always important to remember that having a smaller but more engaged following is better than having a large number of followers who do not resonate with your product or services.

That being said, you should keep your eye on emerging trends on social media. Trends can provide a great opportunity to increase your visibility on social media. So, if you see a trend and feel that it could be applied to your brand, then it’s a great idea to join in.

Engagement

Engagement is a vital aspect of social media marketing – and often one that people forget about! Social media marketing isn’t just about gaining likes and growing follower numbers. Consistent engagement with those followers (or people you work with in the case of LinkedIn) shows that you care and are interested in what they have to say. Moreover, interaction with other accounts helps to feed the social media algorithms, showing the platforms that your account is active, and other accounts are interested because they are communicating with you.

It is essential to respond to comments, messages and other interactions on your social media platforms. You can also engage with your audience by asking questions, conducting polls, and creating interactive content that encourages participation (think of the algorithm!)

Niche

We also recommend taking time to identify your niche. Think about what is going to make your social media account, and therefore your brand, stand out from the crowd and give you an edge over your competitors. It is essential to identify your niche and make sure that it is clearly portrayed on your social media profiles. Social media can be a great platform to showcase your USPs and target your ideal customers effectively.

Consistency

Lastly, make sure you are consistently present on social media. You need to stay in front of the minds of your customers and followers, so maintain engagement to build brand awareness and loyalty. Remember that there is a limited window to ensure your content appears in your followers’ social media feeds. The more consistent with your content you are, the more chances you have to secure that opportunity.

It is also a great way to keep your customers updated with any changes and what’s going on in the business. Social media can also be an excellent platform to show more of the personal side of your business, building a stronger connection with your customers/followers. Therefore, it is a good idea to create a content calendar and stick to a consistent posting schedule.

These simple tips can help elevate your social media profiles. Always remember that the goal is not to gain millions of followers overnight or to “go viral”,  the goal is to build a social media following that supports your business, as well as create an accurate representation of your brand.
